FAQs:
- Garbage day is every Monday. If a Holiday falls on a Monday, garbage pick-up will be the next business day. Place your bagged garbage at the curb by 8:00 AM
- Up to 3 – 30 gallon bags can be placed curbside weekly for pick-up by the Village. Each bag should weigh no more than 30 pounds each.
- 30 gallon bags require a $4.00 red sticker. 15 gallon bags or less require a $2.00 green sticker. Stickers can be purchased at the Village Office -509 Main St.
- Appliances can be disposed of at the Hawkins Refuse/Recycling area on Monday’s. There is an additional fee for white goods. See price list below.
- The Refuse/Recycling hours are Monday’s Noon – 5:00 PM May thru November and Noon – 4:00 PM November thru April.
- Your residence was provided with a recycling bin. If the previous owner did not leave the recycling bin, call me to have one dropped off. You can also place your recyclables in a clean garbage can or laundry basket. Recyclables placed in garbage bags will not be picked up.
- Recyclables should not be stockpiled. Place your recyclables out weekly.
- All recyclables must be clean.
- Milk jugs and large plastic containers should be flattened.
- Cardboard should be broken down and placed in your recycling bin or in a paper bag.
